| For
awhile I got really "into" making
maps. Its a pretty tedious job on its own,
so I'm not sure how much activity this pages
will see in the future. Anyone with the time
and patience to go into a game and piece together
an entire level, is more than welcome to sending
me their work. I just need to clarify a few
guidelines before you go out and waste hours
on end capturing "dirty" images.
What is a dirty image?
If you save a 256 color image to 24-bit, the
picture will take on the characteristics of
a JPG image. It will look all "smudgy".
So don't do that! |
| When
you save a screenshot, save it as a 256 color
Bitmat (BMP) image. Not 24-bit! The BMP file
is basically an uncompressed version of the
picture. You can convert this file to anything
you want. Make sure you keep ALL the screenshots
in this format. Once you have pieced the level
together with your BMP's, save the entire
map as another 256 color BMP. Now you have
an uncompressed copy of the map. You can "save
this copy as" whatever
you like. It won't effect the BMP file. Now
save the map as a gif or png and you're done!
Thats it! Easy enough? |
