With the attitude that your giving right now, i dont think you will ever be. Trust me, you can say blah blah blah, i update my site everyday. My site is much better than any other site. But that doesnt matter, one thing matters. CONTENT, which yes you do update everyday which is good, but the content is sub-par. Honestly Mr. Earnest or whatever the fuck your name is, Mike came here, just asking for credit from a article which your site did steal. Trust me, keep this up, and you will lose links and lose vistors. When I was a staffer at NES El33t, I uploaded several articles from a very(at the time), rabid NES fan. I won't say any names, but I think you can all figure out who I'm talking about. Anyway, one article I posted written by this person actually contained content ripped from NES Player. I was unaware of this until some people brought it to my attention. I quickly tried to resolve things with Groxx. He was pretty cool about it. He didn't hold grudges or anything. As a matter of fact, if I remember right, he said it was okay to leave the article up on el33t. The point is, if you use something from another site, most people won't make a big deal about it if you give them credit, or try to work things out with them. My unadvanced friends use the technique you had used, copying someone else's work and changing the words making it "their own." The smarter students fabricate their own works and get the better grades and recognition. plagiarism (as taken from dictionary.com): n 1: a piece of writing that has been copied from someone else and is presented as being your own work 2: the act of plagiarizing; taking someone's words or ideas as if they were your own Yes, some of those people I was refering to have been caught and their papers ripped up for plagiarism. And no I am not one of them (actually I am 6th in my class of 135). Take the pictures that you took from NES Player for example. Whoever originally made them, it took the following: -their time -their resources -money For example, when I take screenshots for my webpage, I get them my self. The process: -hook my screen capture device up to my computer -play the game until I get to the spot where I need to take a picture -take the screenshot, then save it to a disk -upload the image to my site Even for one picture, it can easily take up to half an hour to grab it. Then folks come around and grab it with ease? And they give no credit? Not fair. The process for when I scan items: -Ask my brother for permission to use his scanner -Let scanner warm up -Scan item -Convert from the default bitmap to a jpeg or gif image -Save to a disk and upload it to my site Time consuming, yes? And when I write articles, I sometimes write rough drafts, and revisions, and revisions before the final draft comes out. When I see these works that I put my time and efforts into on another site, it can make me upset. Oh and another thing. I spent $30 on my screen capture card. I could have bought a new videogame (or several NES games), a few CDs or whatever for the price. I spent my money on something to improve my site, not something to help other people rip me off. So anyway, that is my take. As a webmaster, I know that I wouldn't appreciate it at all if someone had been ripping content (or images) off my site.
