Nestimes- Home -Remembering the times spent growing up, playing the Nes-

Have you ever dreamt about finding an unreleased prototype simply on the ground in the middle of nowhere? Or perhaps you've envisioned yourself fighting the mother brain in Metroid with less than a tank of energy left. Usually when I'm low on money, I experience all these outlandish dreams where I find/steal something I've been vying for on ebay (eg. brand new nes!).
Whenever you have an NES related dream send me an email while it's still fresh in your mind. I'll post your stories here alongside my own delusions. Try to be very descriptive. I don't care if it doesn't make any sense. Dreams aren't supposed to have an ending. What about wet dreams? Ok in most cases!!
If you can figure out WHY you had this dream, send me an explanation along with the story!

How far will you go to get what you want?
Back when I had no money and was really into collecting, I dreamt about a mysterious pawn shop downtown in the heart of a city I inherently made up. Inside lied a factory sealed copy of the Legend of Zelda, untouched in "pristine mint condition"! Lacking funds at the time, I had to devise a plan quick before the store owner became suspicious of my presence. So I decided to walk out of the store with the game at my side (facing opposite to the owner) with the hopes that nobody would notice me. Unfortunately this tactic backfired forcing me to act as if I never had any intentions on stealing the item in the first place. After climbing up a giant coke bottle shaped blimp and playing some weird billiards related game in a casino with my uncle, things got pretty vague…

  Paranoid thoughts
A couple years ago, someone at a message board brought up the notion that some Toys Or Us outlets still embodied nos (new old stock) top loaders. Living in a fairly large city there was little to no hope (to me) that a system from 1995 would still exist in the back of a store such as Toys Or Us! Yet I still would wonder late at night "what if" a brand new top loading nes system DID exist. When the obsession grew larger I kept having these crazy dreams where someone would "beat me to the punch" and snag the last system from a store. I can remember having this one dream where I noticed a person walking through a local park to his car with a brand new nes system in a white bag. While he was distracted, I casually pick up the bag, turn around and walk away in the opposite direction as if nothing had happened. Halfway across the field I look back to see him running towards me. The dream ends as I give the bag back to him and try to come up with a viable excuse.

  What would you do?
What if you had the chance to go back in time to the 80's? What would you do? One time I had this dream where I went back in time through some weird time portal (of sorts) and ended on the top floor of a local mall called Oakridge. Now that I was in the 80's I had to find a store which sold factory sealed nes games of course. Problem was I COULDN'T FIND ONE! I combed through the mall at least three times to no avail. My dream of owning Ghostbusters factory sealed had failed. The dream then diverged off course sending me back to the present with super powers (don't ask me why!). I could now see with tremendous accuracy and run at lightning speeds like Mario.

  Has it bitten you yet?
On the 28th of July 2003 I had this dream where I found this retro looking arcade which sold old school nes games. Walking into one of the rooms I quickly rushed over to the shelf which had a fairly sized stack of nes games. For whatever reason there were A LOT of gold version carts. Even the game boy cartridges were gold! The first game that really caught my eye was this yellow bomberman cart. Don't ask me why I kept finding all these weird looking carts. Maybe I have a fetish for variations. After that I found two incredibly fucked up looking Nintendo Power tin waste baskets. You remember those things right? In my dream they were shaped really oddly. One of them had Mario's hand sticking out of the mold and the other was shaped more like a watering can. Weirdness…
Tentative Explanation: The retro videogame store idea came from a topic someone posted over at a message board regarding the selling of EMO attire. Lately I've also been buying a lot of nintendo memorabilia off of ebay, which probably explains how the NP waste basket concept transpired.
